Consortium for AI in Media Production, Film, Innovation, Research and Education.

The CAMPFIRE Canada Chapter exists to connect creatives, film industry professionals, educators, and researchers navigating the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence and media production.

As AI allows us to reimagine how we create, tell stories, and teach in these domains, many individuals find themselves working in isolation—experimenting, learning and adapting alone.

CAMPFIRE is a place to be among like-minded peers.

A place to share knowledge, excitement, and fears. Where we can exchange stories, skills and technical/creative advice, find community and new connections and engage in deep critical discourse and support one another through a period of profound transformation.

Through community, mentorship, research, education, innovation, and responsible practice, we aim to strengthen the creative ecosystem, starting with the Canadian Chapter, and we welcome global collaborators.

We support the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence in creative practice and include the topics of ethics and critical thinking within the context of AI adoption. CAMPFIRE recognizes that these technologies are becoming part of the creative landscape and seeks to provide a space where professionals can explore their implications together through a welcoming ecosystem and shared learning.

Around every campfire, stories are told. We all remember such magical moments—sitting in the dark, feeling a fire that is powerful, warm, and can even draw you into a bit of a hypnotic reflection, allowing your ears and heart to take in the story that is being told by a peer, a friend, a fellow human.

Around CAMPFIRE, the future of our collective creative evolution is being told by individuals sitting in a circle, which is a symbol of togetherness, of each person having a voice, and of respectful turn-taking and dialogue.

Together, we stoke the flames that illuminate our shared place in the world.
